Hello Fellow Save The Tower Supporters!
Our wee community project is progressing really really well! Recall, we submitted our Scottish Land Fund (SLF) Stage 2 application (the big one) in Mid-November, well we expect to hear back if we have been successful in gaining their support by mid-late March. Our first meeting with our SLF assessor, a week or so ago, was extremely positive. They will never say that we are going to get their funding support, until we get it… but all the feedback was exceptionally encouraging and complimentary. Our SLF assessor and a senior leader from the SLF are visiting the Tower on the 7 th of Feb to take a look around….. let’s hope they like what they see.
Now remember we have a number of funding targets.
1. Raise the funds to purchase The Tower, by end March.
2. Raise the funds to get The Tower ready to open, end-July – probably the earliest.
3. Raise the funds to ensure the Tower has a “healthy” contingency/rainy day fund, target end-dec.

We have a 3-pronged strategy to raise the require funds: 1) SLF funding support to purchase The Tower. If successful, the SLF will provide 80% of the purchase price; 2) Accessing other funding sources to fund specific aspects of purchasing, opening and running the Tower; 3) Community funding support.
Now, remember the SLF will provide approx. 80% of the purchase price. In addition to the SLF’s support we will require £51,000 to complete the sale. The SLF will be very keen to see that we have raised or demonstrated our ability to quickly raise the £51,000 before they will approve our bid and release the
funds, allowing us to progress to purchase. To date with the support of donations and the numerous fundraising events we have run, together we have raised £25,000. Amazing! That leaves us with £26,000 to raise for purchase by mid-March. To achieve this funding goal we are launching our I Saved The Tower
Pledge Fund. By pledging an amount, you are basically saying that if together we are successful in our SLF application, you will turn that pledge into a donation which we will combine with the SLF’s funding to Purchase The Tower.
When together we have successfully secured The Tower’s Future, to say thank you for your pledge, pledgers will also receive the following recognition & Rewards:
- All pledgers will receive an I SAVED THE TOWER Certificate, and I SAVED THE TOWER Fridge Magnet!
- Pledgers above £50 will also receive an I SAVED THE TOWER T-shirt!
- Pledgers of a min of £200 will have a large plaque (15cmx10cm) with their name and favourite
movie/show/author/etc located in prominent positions through-out The Tower.
- Pledgers of £1000 or more will have their name on our huge Keystone Funders Boards situated in. The Towers Atrium.

As well as the above Recognition & Rewards, Pledgers will be invited to our We Saved The Tower Donators Day.

We want as many of our community as possible to be able to contribute to funding Saving The Tower and be recognised for it! Just how MAGIC would it be to have 100’s of members of our community recognised for SAVING THE TOWER??? Future generations will know that together we stepped-up to MAKE IT HAPPEN!
